Antonio Fernández Marchán was born in Jerez de la Frontera (Cadiz-Spain) in 1970 August 27th. He has the Sports Specialist qualification issued by Andalusian Football Federation and has the National Coach allowance. He studied the Master Degree in Sport Management at Spanish Football Federation and the Master Degree in Sport Psychology at UNED. He is also Sport Psychology Specialist and Sport Coach. He has worked for five years as a teacher in the Spanish Football Federation´s Master Degree in Sport Management, and as teacher for the Andalusian Football Coach School during six years.
In the professional experience side it is very remarkable his stage at Sevilla F.C. , where he worked since 2000 to 2006 , as Head of International Football Department -2000 to 2003-, and as Technical Secretary in the last three seasons. After one season as Sport Director at Xerez C.D. , Fernández joined to Valencia C.F. holding the Technical Secretary in 2007/08. Once the Spanish National Team conquered the Euro 2008, he was signed by ¨La Roja¨ as Scout and Analyst , a position where he got the FIFA World Cup in South Africa in 2010. At the end of that year, he continues his career in Malaga C.F. as Sport Director, a club that achieves its most important success in history, obtaining its place to compete in the UEFA Champions League and reaching the quarter-finals stage.
His track record shows a UEFA Cup and UEFA Supercup with Sevilla F.C, a Spanish Cup with Valencia C.F. and the FIFA World Cup with the Spanish National Team.

Abdullah ben Nasser Al Thani, sheik owner of Malaga C.F., offers him to manage the sport area. With him, the club makes the signings of Toulalan, Monreal, Van Nistelrooy, Cazorla, Caballero, Camacho, Demichelis, Buonanotte, Baptista, Joaquín, Isco and Kameni, among others.His period in Malaga ends in 2012, with the Andalusian club qualification for the UEFA Champions League group phase for first time in history, after finishing in the 4th position in Liga BBVA 2011/2012.

In 2008, , Tottenham Hotspurs and Inter de Milán show their interest on his signing, but it is finally Fernando Hierro, Sport Director in Spanish Football Federation , who convinces him to join in the technical staff as Scout and Analyst for the Spanish National Team. With thea aim of winning the 2010 Fifa World Cup, he takes the challenge and works for two years a a half making reports and following players which potential to be called up by Vicente del Bosque, as well as he prepares reports about La Roja´s rivals. In July 11th the Spanish National Team wins the Fifa World Cup after defeating Holland 1-0 in Johannesburgo.

In July of 2007, he is called by Miguel Ángel Ruiz, new Sport Director of Valencia C.F. , who offers him the Club´s Technical Secretary. On his first and sole year in the team, he recommends and supervises the signing of Edwiges Maduro, Manuel Fernandes and Ever Banega, among others. The season ends up with the Spanish Cup Winning.

He assumes the Xerez C.D. ´s sport direction for the season 2006/07, a club belonging to the second división in the Spanish League. The squad was leading the table during fourteen rounds, although at the end the club had to give in its dominance to the richest rivals in the competition. The club ended the league in the 8th position.

In 2000 he lands in Sevilla F.C. as scout for youth football and Sevilla Atlético. He rapidly raises to the first squad´s sport commission and is designated responsible of international football.In this stage he gets a great reputation by discovering great talents such as Dani Alves, a signing in which he insists on after seeing him in the South American under 20 (Uruaguay 2003). Shortly after , the Sport Director Ramón Rodríguez 'Monchi', names him Technical Secretary.
